Simple lo for my dd's album about this hurricane. Sorry about the glare on the transparency. Couldn't seem to make it go away. Journaling reads: No, it wasn’t the major Hurricane Dennis that hit in 2005, but this Hurricane Dennis definitely impacted the North Carolina coast in 1999. It approached a day earlier than expected, stranding thousands of tourists on the beach who would have otherwise been evacuated. Then it just stayed for days and days, pummeling us with rain and wind. So for all that time, we were pretty much stuck at home. Well, at least you and your daddy were. Since I worked in a video store, I would go to work each day and keep the store open until the power went out (which happened every day) and then close up shop and come home. The closest you got to getting out was following us down to the carport and standing around out there for a few minutes. Kill Devil Hills, NC August 30 - September 4, 1999
