Ok, so after I posted my comment, I read the others, scrolled back up and read your story..choked me up a bit! Sometimes I wished I lived on a huge farm in the country so I could rescue all of the kitties and dogs out there without homes...I know mine are some lucky pets and it looks like yours are too! Good for you!
Sooo glad you brought him home. It breaks my heart to see pets living in cages at stores and shelters. He looks very content to be 'home', Bless you for opening yours to him.
This is beautiful. Really lovely colours and papers, wonderful journalling and a gorgeous pic. He's a very lucky guy to have found such a loving family, and good for you for taking him in. Sorry to hear that you lost your beautiful Taz, its so sad to lose a loved pet.

Our sweet, gentle Taz passed away in October 2006 at 16. Since our remaining cat, Havoc, was an 11 year old problem child, we really didn't intend on getting another cat at that time, but a month and a half later we were at Petsmart getting bird food, and Al spotted this big, gray cat sitting in a Humane Society display cage, the only cat left there at the time. Al was missing our snuggly Taz and he thought the poor guy looked lonely, so he asked to pet him, and the cat jumped right up on his lap and started nudging his chin. John, 2, and I came into the little pet meeting room, and the cat ran up to him and gave him an affectionate head butt. The poor guy was estimated to be 5-7 years old and had been sitting in cages for a month and a half. We didn't think Havoc would react well to another cat, so we left him there but couldn't get him off our minds. A few days later, I said to Al, "Let's take another look at that cat," and he said, "I've already got the paperwork started."
He's got his share of quirks, but he's a wonderful cat for our family. He's always ready for snuggles, adores John and has been so gentle and tolerant with him. His favorite places are usually wherever we are at the moment, or somewhere high and warm. Here he is sitting on the diaper changing pad next to a window in John's room, soaking in the sun.
