Awww, this is gorgoeus, love the paper pricking, and I never even thought about embossing vellum.. (Although I don't currently own an embosser yet so it doesn't matter!) But I'll remember it when I do. I know what you mean about dressing them up and showing off in their finest.. I loved when I dressed my little girl up for Easter, she was a perfect doll too!
Isn't 'Beanie' a horrible nickname to label such a pretty girl with? Worse, it's followed her the rest of her life. Sabrina will be 50 in two days, and I still call her Beanie Baby sometimes! It is her first birthday in this photo and I took her to the restuarant where my mom worked, to show her off. She was so cute in her birthday finery a customer set her on a table to take this picture. He later gave mom a copy, which fortunately, she saved all these years. After embossing the vellum, I used a technique called 'paper pricking', to create a frame around the photo. After border punching the vellum side detail, I used a slotted punch, in order to thread the ribbon thru. The vellum envelope in the lower right corner holds the journaling card.
