This is my latest in a series of Nawlin's(southern drawl)Lo for an album I'm working on.The photo and scan didNOT pick up all the true richness of the colors and the sax is really metallic gold:(.My husband,Fred, and I went to to "Big Easy"/"cresent City" 5 mos. after Katrina hit the Gulf coast.As the nation wondered if New Orleans would have the annaul Mardi Gras(Fat Tuesday)celebration they were in the highest gear they could muster....to them a year without the time honored festival would to be to surrender its faith and values.Tho the parades and the guest accomodations, including most restaurants and shops were at about 25% they celebrated anyway!It probably meant more to them than in all the decades of merriment in the past.
