The way I made the "EMMA" letters was:
1) Cut 2.5" squares of metallic gold paper
2) Cut 2" squares of a green marble paper
3) Hand colored some 1.25" Chunky White letters from Making Memories with green marker hilighted with gold gel pen and applied them to the green marble paper.
4) Applied the "lettered squares" to the metallic gold squares, tilting them in alternate directions.
It adds some action and movement to the page, I thought.
Thanks! It helps that I design multimedia training software for a living...so am used to doing layouts for the computer screen, but I find it hard to keep things uncluttered when there are SO many scrapbooking toys and techniques I find fascinating!
This is my very first scrapbook page ever. I found it VERY difficult to keep it simple. The photo is of my 2 year old draft mule Emma being shown at the 2003 Cheers for Ears Show at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington VA. She won 1 class and placed in two others. This information is reflected in the journaling.
