This is my son Jared who spent 8 months last year in the hospital. These picture were taken the day before he went in on Thanksgiving 06. It's hard for me to journal that time in my life because of all that was going on.
Journaling-We try to cherish every moment we spend with our kids. On this Thanksgiving day we had no idea what lay ahead for us and you. The next day you were going into Desert Willow and we knew that things for all of us would be very different. we also knew that when you got out of the hospital you would be a different young man. We all needed to know what went on in that head od yours and to get the help we knew you needed to make every moment we get together special and not such a fight. I am pretty close with you and I knew this transition for the two of us was going to be difficult but I had no idea just how hard it would hit me. I have always cherished our relationship and I am thankful you are my son. I love you and everything I have ever done is for the benefit of my kids. I hope that you know you are loved and that we wish the very best for you.
This bit of journaling is only the tip of the iceburg I have inside of me of that time I spent apart from him. I missed so many things while he was away but I must say finding out he was bi-polar and he wouldn't always attck me and that it could be controlled was a blessing. It's just very hard to express that time frame for all of us. Thanks for looking
