First of all - what a fabulous project and a beautiful result! Second - how wonderful of the purchaser to donate it back! You must be very proud to live in such a wonderful community.
Wow - what a superb idea!! This is a gorgeous quilt and how generous of the owner to donate it back to the school :)
Great take on the challenge - TFS!

A lady gave me a huge box of material which sat in my mother's storage room until I had and idea for the 4th grade Oregon Trail unit. The Students studied what life was like on the Oregon Trail then they colored quilt blocks with fabric crayons. We pieced the quilt top together (during library skills time none the less) and then they tacked the quilt top to a batting and a quilt bottom on which we had drawn a map of North America and they traced the route that was traveled on the Oregon Trail. When the project was complete we auctioned the quilt off and used the proceeds to buy new books for the library. (The person who bought the quilt donated it to the school and it is displayed in the one room school house.) I think the kids did a wonderful job on the quilt.
