This is for the Scrap Their Name Challenge. I chose my oldest DD Libby Lou. This lo has a bit of everything and is very blingy! I mixed two colors of paint to get the color for the title and stamped a swirl in the corner (it doesn't show up too well in the photo). Journaling (hidden under the photo) reads:
Libby and I have been discussing her name lately. At 4, she always wants us to tell her stories at bedtime. Sometimes they are stories about when Momma or Daddy were little and sometimes they are stories about when she was little (kind of funny since she still is little in our eyes, even though she is the big sister of our family). Recently she asked about her name and why we named her Elizabeth Louise. When playing she likes to give herself and Emma different names. So we indulged her questioning and told her about other names we had considered for her if she was a girl (since we didn’t know if she was a boy or girl while I was pregnant). The names we had considered were Katherine (or Katie—Daddy’s favorite), Emma, Sophie, and Elizabeth. Katherine is my grandmother’s name and it is a lovely name, however it’s too popular. I have loved the name Emma since Scott and I started dating. The name had also become very popular thanks to the show Friends. Although, we did name our second child Emma. We liked Sophie but didn’t want to name our daughter Sophia. Elizabeth is a family name—my Mom’s middle name and my cousin Nancy’s middle name. I love the classicness of Elizabeth and that there are so many nicknames, like Libby. When Libby finally arrived into the world at 4:00 a.m. on November 10, 2003, I took one look at her and said “Hello Elizabeth Louise. Now we have our Libby Lou!” After I named her and of course started crying tears of joy, I thought I should ask Scott if this was okay with him and of course he had to agree. The Louise portion of her name came from Scott’s beloved grandmother Louise. Unfortunately, Grandma Louise died while I was 7 months pregnant with Libby and we honor her and think of her everyday in our spunky Libby Lou. Grandma Lou was a firecracker of a lady with a heart of gold, just as I hope our darling girl will be. I think we made a wise and wonderful choice in naming our first daughter Elizabeth Louise or just Libby Lou as we all know her.

Thanks for looking:)
