Oh! I love the combination of the font and your own handwriting in the journaling . . . and the use of pink ink! Love your round ebellie too with the flower in the middle. adding this one to my favs for sure!
really cute lo, and the pic is really sweet!!! I love the journaling, i saw something similar in the new CK and thought it was cool, this looks great!!!
I did this page for a challenge on another site to use hot pink, orange, and yellow in a layout. Fun colors to work with! :)
I typed my journaling and then took out some words and handwrote those.
That's me when I was two!
The journaling says: I remember the summers of my childhood. Wading in our blue plastic pool. Holing up in the upstairs during hot weather, with the window air conditioners adn the fans blasting full-force. Playing in the backyard when it was so hot we couldn't go down the slide or we'd burn our legs. Trying as hard as we could to actually go the whole length of the slip-n-slide, instead of getting stuck somewhere in the middle. Riding bikes to Dairy Queen for a cool treat on a hot day. Staying up extra late on a quilt on the beach to watch the fireworks over Lake Michigan on the Fourth of July. Going to VBS and drinking watered-down Kool-aid and eating stale generic oreos. Picking blackberries and splashing in the creek at the park. Piling into the station wagon for a long, long trip to New York. Watching the lava lamp as we drifted off to sleep at Grandma Edwards' house. Swimming and boating and sometimes sleeping over at Trout Lake. "Helping" Grandpa Cobb make ice cream and mow the lawn. Sleeping in the top bunk at Camp Fairwood. Coming home, exhausted, with a sunburn and a suitcase full of damp, sandy laundry. Shopping with Mom for the perfect pencils, backpack, and lunchbox as the first day of school inexorably approached. I wish I could take my kids there, back to those simple, happy days. They will have their own memories of childhood summers. I hope and pray that when they share them with their children, those memories will be sweet.
