I have to say this is a most unique LO!!!! Love the swirl and paper dolls they give this LO a retro feel to match the BW picture you used . I think its great I would not change a thing.
This is a really cool LO- the only thing I notice is that the fashion drawings are kinda white.. coloring them with colored pencils is a good idea. My favorite thing about this is how you added the vines in the top right just like they are in the photo. Nice touch!
PC-Pretty and unique! I would lightly rub a brown ink pad over the flower petals to distress them, and add two more flowers to the bottom right corner of the pic. For the cut out fashion girls,I would lightly color them in with colored pencils.
This is great! I like the idea of using old patterns on a layout but I don't know that I would add it here. I don't know where you would put it. I like you LO as is.
Since I'm a collage artist, my brain wants to add bits of old patterns to the page -- since they're pretty transluscent, especially once adhesive is applied, they wouldn't cover much, just add an extra overlay like vellum -- but it's totally not "necessary". Heh, maybe it's just that I have some pattern scraps that are almost that old!
Are you serious? We're supposed to critique this?! lol! It's perfectly vintage and fashionable! Don't think I would do a single thing different - very original. Did you get the paper models from a dress pattern package or something? They reminds me of a McCalls pattern or something. Anyway, absolutely fab and into my favs!
OH MY LORD SANDRA!!! This is simply GORGEOUS!!!!! (crit: i feel that it's missing something above "fashion" but i'm not sure what...)
SUCH A BREATHTAKING LAYOUT!!!
This LO tells about my mum's interest for fashion. She always wanted to be a fashion designer and drew a lot of paper dolls and clothes to the dolls. However she became a child care-taker, but has made a lot of wedding gowns and other ballroom gowns as the word spread that she is good at it.
I thought this picture was very calm and harmonic but I guess a lot took place in her head instead so I tried to create the "chaos of the mind" by copying the elements in the picture to the layout.
Journaling: Although you never became a fashion designer your dreams about it and interest for patterns and fashion lead to numerous wedding gowns, ballroom gowns, dresses and now different kinds of children's clothes.
