Journaling:
Thursday, my flight out was 2:44 pm. I arrived at the airport at 12:30 and tried to curbside check in. But I couldn't because my flight was canceled! So I boogie my bootie to the 1st Class check in. HaHa! It is now 12:45. And he tells me they have a seat for me on the 1:00 flight. So he checks in my baggage and I haul bootie to the terminal. At the carry-on luggage screening, the attendant has to take apart my baggage which makes me have to run to my terminal.
I get on the plane and am greeted by some very unfriendly flight attendants. Whatever. We taxi off and then get grounded because of bad weather in Chicago. We did not take off until almost 4:00. We were sitting on the plane that whole time. Hot as all get out! And I was so freakin hungry........as I had planned to eat some lunch at the airport. The 2 hour flight had way more turbulence that I like.
We land. And son of a gun…no luggage for me. So I am in Chicago with no luggage. Just my little carry on that has my makeup, camera, and some scrapping magazines. HaHa! I was sent to wait in a horrendously long line to fill out paper work. (Remember. This was only Thursday!)
Here is all I had with me: my scrapping bag that had my camera, some snacks, and some scrapping magazines And my cute new purse. HaHa!
My luggage was finally found and delivered to my hotel late Saturday night. Lots of good that did, huh? I wore the same black pants 3 days in a row. I had to borrow some of Sara's clothes and stuff. I even bought expensive deodorant and underwear in a hotel store.
The airline was so kind to offer to reimburse me up to $25 bucks for toiletries. Nice, huh?
Fast forward….My Sunday flight is not scheduled to leave until 7:49 pm. I arrive at the airport at about 2:45. I tried to curbside check in again. Oh but wait. There appears to be a small problem. They couldn't find my name on the roster for the flight. So I had to go inside and check in at the ticket counter. I marched up to 1st class counter and I was hot. Not so happy at all! Apparently the dork in Raleigh also canceled me for my returning flight when he had to change my departing flight.
Luckily, they were able to get me on the over booked flight which of course was overbooked. They were even trying to get passengers to volunteer to take a next-day flight in exchange for some free tickets. No. I did not volunteer. I just wanted to get the heck home.
No more American Airlines for me!
