SHCG: Fabulous job! I cannot believe all the elements you squeezed in here. You rock! I hereby declare thee the hand-drawn doodle flame Goddess. I bow down, chicky! I have only two suggestions. I'd love to see the title pop out a little more. Perhaps an orange outline or double mounting would make that happen. Also, I'm not sure why, but I'd love to have that little license plate of center just a bit to throw off the visual "T" that I am seeing. However, this layout rocks (literally and figuratively) and I think it is fabby!
SHCG: Wow! You put a TON of work into this! Those flames are hot! I love the transparency idea, your use of the Rock Star pp, the work you did on that photo, and the look on her face is priceless! I have a couple of critiques, though. I don't think the title font is formidable enough to stand with the rest of the lo's elements. I'd like to see a more commanding font--something more fanciful, rather than plain, so that it doesn't have to compete with "Hot Stuff." I think moving the photo a little further down behind the flames, so that it looks like it is being consumed by them, will add even more dimension. Where the license plate rests currently weighs down the page; I'd suggest sliding it over to a corner opposite than the photo. This brings me to the photo placement, I'd move it to the left and accompany it with some journaling on the right. It could be cool to orient your writing in one big flame shape on more transparency. I also think the photo could stand to be enlarged. You have slaved over this lo, though, so I can understand keeping its current size.
SHCG: Everything about this page fits with the picture! Love the hand drawn flames on transparency. Love the stars, title, everything looks great. I think I would move the picture down and to the right a little.. just make it a little easier to follow down the title. However, great as is.
SHCG: great layout! love the flames! very artistic! my only suggestion is that the page seems to all blend together...even with the flames. i would use different stickers for the title or double mat the photo! otherwise, great job!
SHCG: Great work on this page! Your flames turned out absolutely amazing and that picture is so darn cute. I love those chubby little legs and the devil costume. The only thing I noticed about this page is that your title, which is perfect for the page blends into the background paper a bit. To make it stand out slightly could you put a matching piece of patterned paper as a mat behind the title? Again, super page and great job with those flames. I had to bring the page in closer just to study them up a bit.
SHCG - Amanda, what a wonderful response to multiple challenges! Love the pp, photo & all the creativity you put into this - hand-doodled/cut transparency flames, glittering, distressing, cut title - all of it turned out terrific! I offer one tiny suggestion, I could visualize following the rule of thirds & placing the photo slightly off-center (ie putting where the lines intersect if there was an invisible tic-tac-toe board), for design's sake. But overall, super page, Amanda. All your special touches make this soo very cool. Great work!!!
This is my dd Brittany age 2. I did a lot of diffrent stuff on this one. The flames are hand doodled on transparency, painted, glittered, and cut out. The cs was distressed and stamped, the pic was distressed, painted, and glittered, hot stuff was distressed, glittered and doodled on and the title was doodled on, and then outlined in glitter pen.
