This LO is in response to an incident that occurred at school a few days ago. Another student used a racial slur to describe presidential hopeful Obama. I told her that I felt that what she said was wrong. She laughed at me, then I walked away saying that it was not funny. This issue has been on my mind for a while since it happened, so I figured I needed to scrap it. I used black and white because of the race issue. I used the 6 color brads to represent the rainbow, which is a symbol of diversity.

Journaling reads: "If you don't stand up for what's right, who will? If you don't speak your mind, who will? If you don't try and stop something that is wrong, who will? February 20th, 2008 and racism still exists in the United States of America. I've done what I can to change that. And I will NOT STOP. EVER."

At the bottom of the arrow I wrote the quote: "Speak loudly, even if your voice shakes." I don't remember who said it, so if you have any idea please let me know :D

TFL!
