I placed the photos in my scanner side by side, scanned them, then imported it into PhotoShop. I then added a new layer and chose a bold typeface. I made the typeface just slightly smaller than the area that the scans took up. I then went back to the original layer (scanned image), selected all and copied. Went back to the typeface layer, I used the magic wand and selected the color of the typeface (I was using white but you can use any color). I then opened up edit > paste into, and it imported the photo image into the letters. After I was done doing that, I applied blending options to give it shadow. It was pretty easy to do, once you try it a few times. Hope this helps You.
My little brother Buzz, poppin' wheelies in various parts of the neighborhood when he was 16 in 1980. This is a layout with parts that were created in photoshop and printed out. Inscription reads: "This picture was taken as Buzz was riding a solid wheelie from beyond teh playground, all the way up this hill (YES - this is a hill!), and ont the street. He seemed to ride more on one wheel instead of both wheels! THE BOY SURE COULD RIDE!"
