I had to use fabric in this swap anyway that we wanted so I chose something springy! I used the fabric as the background, quilled butterflies, foam insects, flower buttons that I sewed together for the 3-d look,inked the edge all around with Colorbox cyan blue pad and a multi-colored ribbon held down with blue staples and cut it to fringe the ends.
Here is what the poem says:

I can tell it's springtime before the old folks do;
