Memorabilia pocket made from vellum holds my hotel room key and room card, a toilet voucher, a tram ticket stub, and the Van Gogh museum ticket stub.
In the Red Light District you aren't allowed to take pictures of the girls. I was told their pimps and bodyguards can get quite aggressive, to the point of destroying your camera. So I decided not to risk it, and just bought some postcards instead. The pp I used behind the memorabilia pocket is actually the tissue paper a store clerk wrapped around a decorative plate I was bringing home for my mom. I printed my journaling onto vellum, so the background could still be seen. I also used ribbon and brads to try and give the journaling some structure. The "see" square and circle are stickers mounted on cs and then adhered to the page using foam pop up squares.

Journaling reads:
From brothels to sex shops to museums, the Red Light District leaves nothing to the imagination. The Rossebuurt, Dutch for ‘pink’ or ‘red’ neighborhood, is one of the oldest and most beautiful parts of the city with its long winding narrow, cobbled streets and utterly charming 14th century architecture. Amsterdam prides itself, and rightly so, on its wholly liberal and tolerant attitude. Instead of criminalizing everything, they make it legal. Prostitution is a legal profession, in turn making prostitutes taxpayers. This allows the government to ensure that all prostitutes are able to access medical care and work in better conditions. The word coffeeshop, has become synonymous with a special kind of commodity: marijuana. Cannabis is illegal in Holland but in practice, possession of a small quantity (usually 30 grams) is considered a misdemeanor rather than a criminal offense and in such it is practically ignored. These days the coffeeshops are licensed by the local council and subject to regulation. Contrary to popular belief, the Red Light District is actually the safest area in Amsterdam as clusters of policemen, and private bodyguards employed by the girls themselves are always on duty.

Thanks for looking!
