Cool tip, Wendy. I am inspired! Thanks for sharing.
Also, as a side not -- those trays (and aluminum foil and anything else metallic) are great sharpeners for dull scissors and punches . . . so making these would serve a dual purpose! :)
Yes - this is NOT aluminum foil - these are the disposable cooking tins/trays you can buy at the grocery store - much thicker (but not too thick;-)....hth!!!
Great idea.... You did a great job!!! Just one question - How do you keep it from wrinkling? What I'm thinking of is light weight and would seem easy to crinkle.
A metal oven liner is just one of those alumimun liners you can buy at the grocery store - think of those aluminum tins you can buy - the very large ones...like cookie sheets, turkey tins, pie tins - it's that sort of thing...just anything like that that is large enough to cut. You'll see them in the store next time you visit and say "oh yeah...that's what she meant" lol...have fun!!!
I know some of you may have seen this...it's been online elsewhere and it's also been published a couple times - but it's such a fun little tip that I thought I'd share it with those of you who have not already had a chance to see it. These are metal embellishments I made myself using one of those metal oven liners from the grocery store - they can be purchased at the dollar store too - all of these embellishments were made using one sheet - and I could have made more - pretty cheap huh!!! I used my scissors - a punch - some of those metal punch letters...my Sizzix, anything I could find. To create the star with vellum I just used a Sizzix diecut and then I carefully cut the vellum and glued it on to the back. For the faux stitched tin - I just used a paper piercer and went alone the outside of a square piece of the metal. For the "dog tag" - I just cut the shape out and then "rubbed" over a dog tag - just like dry embossing. For the circle tags -I just used a punch and added some letter stickers - you can really go nuts with these! I didn't even break out my stamps!!! I think it's actually aluminum. Anyway...hope that a few of you can benefit from this and save a buck or two!!! Enjoy!!! Wendy
