Phra Mongkhon Bophit

One of many many Buddhas in Thailand. This one, located in Ayuthaya, is reputed to be the largest of cast bronze. It is covered in 179 kilos (394 lbs) of gold leaf. The sign gives it's measurements : lap width is 9.55 metres (31.5 ft). height is 12.45 m (41 ft), base is 4.5 m ( 14.85 ft) Total height 16.95 metres(almost 56 ft)! It's no wonder my flash did not reach to the top!
