SHCG: Hugs to you, Sharon, baby! I love this and I am so honored that this fabulous layout was inspired partly by my challenge. You totally rocked it! There is not one darned thing I would change about this. I love the divine handcut 36 and I am totally digging the strips (which must have taken forever to cut and ink, chicky. The picture is perfect for this layout...kind of a look where I am and what I have done but the whole wide world is still waiting. Love it! This is great Sharon, girlfriend. Here's to another fabulous year for you! Superb!
Love, love, love the photo! The pp is great for the photo! I also love the hand cut 36! The journaling is awesome as usual! I almost forgot to mention that i love the group of flowers in the corner of the photo!
SHCG: Beautiful page! I love that patterned paper! This was a super idea to have all of those little strips of paper fill up the page. I think that in years to come as you look back at this page it will be one of your favorites as it will trigger many happy memories. Great job!!
SHCG: The pp is just yummy! Hey, I'm 35! I guess that's why we both like some of the same music, huh? Great job with the hand cut 36! I think it would have been nice to have the journaling in varied fonts to give more visual interest. The pic is awesome. Great job!
WHAT?! are you 36? Where have I been? I thought you were, like 28 or 29... MAYBE 30. Anyway... this is awesome, as always. I like the way you did all the little strips as opposed to one big block of journaling or a list.
SHCG: Beautiful page! I love how you inked all of the 36 journaling strips! It makes everything go just perfectly together. I love the PP and the flowers, the photo is gorgeous!
SHCG: I really like how you used the small pieces of paper with each response. The flowers around your photo (which is awesome!) are really pretty. They balance out your 36 really well. Nice job!
Another great layout! Love how you did the 36 with Word ~ very cool. I'm so jealous you went to Gordon Ramsey's restuarant, me and my son watch him all the time :)
SHCG: This has such a soft quality to it, and such a departure from your recent bold los and your edgy rock ho side. I love the bg pp, the pic, and the colors of the flowers and how you used them as a photo corner. You did a great job hand cutting that 36! I also love that I already knew most of these things about you, because it made me feel a personal connection with all of your journaling strips. What a year it's been. I appreciated some of the everyday types of notable moments you've decided to include, like watching reality tv, proving your friend wrong, and the inside joke between you and your DH (the last two of which I am further intrigued about). It gives me a fresh take of how to approach this challenge myself. My only critique is to double the photo's size and make the subtitle strip a little more noticeable. The lace is a nice, feminine touch. Finally, I'm curious to see some of the bg pp colored in, just to bring more interest to the page. Great job on the two challenges.
SHCG: this is a great answer to the challenge. It will most definitely be a great page to look back on down the road. Love the flowers as photo corner in the bottom right, and the hand cut "36". Also love that piece of lace there, great touch.
This is my response to 2 Scrap Happenzz Critique Group Challenges - whenscraphappenzz/Tiffany's "Things To Do" Challenge to scrap a LO about things you did in the past year or things you want to do in the next year as it relates to your age, & Fiery Redhead/Melissa's "Crunching Numbers" challenge to do a number-based LO. My birthday is next month...hope nothing HUGE happens before then that will make me wish I waited until then to scrap this, ha!
It's ONE piece of background pp...I don't know why the top half scanned in a lighter color, I scanned it a few times & it kept doing that! The bottom half is a truer color. The scan also cropped off a bit of the left side.
The "36" is handcut - I created it in WordArt, reversed it & printed it on the back of my cs.
I love the expanse of mountains in the background of that photo. That pic's from my amazing Philippines trip last November.
