I think this layout is a genuine reflection of how much you do not like chaos. I think it is a testament to what you and your family are doing to provide a house that is worthy of being your home. great job in keeping the record straight.
I think the same thing about the pages I did when we had our built-in pool installed in 2003. They are boring, but that's life and if it happened...scrap it! It's not an ugly lo at all...I even think the paper looks like torn wallpaper!
I feel your pain when it comes to doing work on your home; my husband and I are building (and I mean building, we've done everything except dig the hole, pour the basement and shingle the roof) Hopefully, it makes you appreciate it that much more. It's great that you're documenting it, I've been taking so many pictures we had to move them to an external hard drive : ) Anyhow, I really like this lo, it shouldn't be pretty or too put together because doing renovations is messy. Great job portraying how hard it was, not to mention dusty.
Oy--this is a 2 page lo of our house under construction. It is by far my least favourite layout. I think it's ugly as sin--but then, so is a house undergoing the kind of remodelling we're doing. This is for the pick a quote challenge. I used "The best luck of all is the luck you make for yourself'. I definately won't win the prize for nicest layout on this one---but anyway. It's done. and I just noticed that one of the photos has come off. On the left side, see the blank space under the lettering? There should be a small pic of the stained glass window. I guess I need to go and find it! I tried to get the look of drywall dust by chalking everything white. Doesn't show up that great in the photo. Also used a carpenter's pencil to mark measurements, notes etc all over the page. Not my best work by far...but at least there's a record of it. And next year when the siding is all done I'll do a 2 pager of the finished product! Whoohoo! The journalling is on the side, and it's pretty factual. Just talks about when we purchased the house, when we did this particular piece of work, how we lived in one room at a time for almost a year (the original contractor was in an accident part way through, and we needed to find someone else), and how now I'm looking forward to new trim and siding!
