Journaling for my father's memorial....he passed on 2/15/08. I love this photo b/c everything around me is actually white except for the brass wind chimes which represent my father. No photoshopping done.

Journaling Reads:
The day after your funeral was probably one of the most iconic days. I found it significant because of the memorial cards I picked for you. The card that struck me the most was a large tree that looked like a large cherry blossom or willow with snow on the ends. It looked so peaceful and the wording said “May they Rest in Peace” on it. So when I woke up to 4” of snow, the peacefulness and quietness was so soothing. I took it as a message to say “I'm at peace now.”

My friend Natalie bought me beautiful windchimes to share her family tradition. In her family, when someone passes you hang the chimes, and when the wind blows it is said they are sending kisses from Heaven. The week after I hung the chimes we had a snow storm like the one in NY. It was quiet, still and peaceful again. It helped me feel you are still here watching over us. Everytime Kyleigh heard the chimes she would run and say “Mommy, Grandpa is sending me kisses!”
