Journaling reads:
I was given a gift for my birthday one year that brought me to tears…I was given a beautiful Johnson guitar. The gift was from Leah and my mom; both had pitched in to get me something that they knew would be meaningful to me. I can’t play the guitar now, but at one time I could. They knew that I had the potential to learn to play again and they saw this as an outlet for me…yet another way to share my music with others. Since I love to sing, it made sense to them for me to learn the guitar, as this could be an instrument to accompany me as I sang. This “potential” that they saw in me (and still see) was truly the best gift I could have been given. It meant that they understood me…they know me well enough to recognize my passions. Learning to actually play the guitar is a slow-going process but I know that it is a goal that I will fulfill. The guitar sits in the corner of my room to serve as a reminder of a significant love that my twin sister and my mom have for me.
