This is the 4th layout about my trip to Greece from June 12-20.
Journaling : Patmos is part of the islands of Dodécanèse and have a population of more than 2500 inhabitants. The total surface of the island east of 34 km2 and it has a coastal perimeter of 60 km. Patmos is a famous religious center and it is for Greece what is Lourdes for France. It is in a cave of the island that Saint Jean had a vision and wrote the "Apocalypse". The monastery of Saint Jean attracts each year thousands of pilgrims coming from the whole world. In the Sixties, the mystical side of Patmos, attracted many hippies. Except the monasteries and the very beautiful churches, Patmos is an interesting destination for several reasons. You will also discover there astonishing green landscapes and very beautiful beaches, very authentic villages, and a cordial and accessible local population. Patmos is one of the most beautiful islands of Dodécanèse and it is worthy to be visited.
