I agree that every child should discover all of his talents. Both of my sons are musical! My oldest got so good that we traveled to Open Mikes 5 to 6 times a week. My youngest is a drummer and an artist. Both were in the drama club in HS. Great LO. I almost forgot to say this. I was doing too much remembering those days with a smile.
This is for the Every Child Should challenge at http://www.scrapbook.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/1453831/tp/1/ And for this LO I chose “Every Child Should Take Music Lessons” When I showed this LO to my DH he laughed and said that he was showing more leg than his daughter!! LOL! In his pic he is 12 yrs old and in my daughters pic she is aged 13.
Hidden journaling reads: Kimberley, you and your dad have both been raised in the same house and attended the same schools. Your dad was encouraged by his doctor to take up a musical instrument to help strengthen his lungs for his asthma and Nonna & Papa almost died when he brought a tuba home from school! As soon as you were old enough to join the primary school band, you decided (thankfully) the flute would be your instrument. You could not wait to get to St Patrick’s College to follow in your fathers footsteps there. I love these pics of you both wearing the St Pat’s marching band uniform. In 1980 your dad was the U/18 Open EEb Bass Solo NSW State Champion.
