Journaling:
top left: My mom and dad had 11 children, so there was always someone to talk to. sometimes it got too noisy and i wished for someplace where i could be alone. Now, with the addition of in-laws, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, our family is like a small community. and, now, i cherish the times of gathering. we have fun being together and catching up on what's going on in our lives. i used to wish there were less of us, but now, i wouldn't trade a single member. they all hold a place in my heart.

top right: water, and especially the ocean, has always held a special attraction for me. when times are troubled and i need to rejuvenate, i head for a body of water. in a pinch, i'll settle for a local fountain, but it's the ocean that soothes my soul. i love the sound of the waves as they hit the shore. i like to look at the enormity of that body of water, and realize that any conerns i have are like a grain of sand to the Creator, and He will take care of whatever is troubling me.

middle left: as long as i can remember, music has always been a part of my life. my mom used to play hispanic music, but it was the Motown sound, and later, pop music, that captured my heart. Now, i listen to an eclectic collection of all sorts of music. i have no specific preference, only a mood that must be satisfied. if i'm feeling joy, then it must be rock, sad, then i'm in the mood for soul, nostalgic, and i'm in the 70's. music is as much a part of me as air.

middle right: Since i married dan, traveling has become a major source of enjoyment for me. i love traveling to new locations, experiencing new cuisine, art, and atmosphere. we don't even have to leave the state to have new experiences, but i so love seeing different areas of the country. During a recent trip to the Pacific Northwest, i realized that the USA has so much to offer in scenic views, and i learned to appreciate this country so much more.

lower left: i'm a fairly new scrapbooker, and i entered into it reluctantly, because i had seen other people's examples and just knew that i could never be that creative. what finally convinced me to start wholeheartedly was the death of my father. after i got over the shock of his death, i realized that there were so many questions i didn't have the answers to. scrapbooking has become my memory keeper. my pages may not be perfect, but they will tell my story.

lower right: it may seem funny that i included a restaurant in my happiness count, but, let me tell you, i look forward to our weekly dinner at Los Gallitos. we used to eat out fairly often, trying different restaurants all the time. but, we found that we kept coming back to Los Gallitos for Mexican food more often than not. it's great food, fairly priced, the staff is friendly, and the margaritas are out of this world. it makes my happiness list because it puts a smile on my face.
