Page 1 describing our pre-wedding baking spree at my husband's aunt's house. One of our bridesmaids and her son helped us get everything ready for our out-of-town guests' gift bags. My DH and I decided to put in goodies representing our home states, where we live now (Germany), and where we got married (Baltimore).
Journaling: On Wednesday, Caroline and Antoine joined us at Dottie's, where we took over the kitchen to make sundreds of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies - from Rosie's recipe - and buckeyes, the chocolate-covered peanut butter candies that are our state candy in Ohio. All of them had to be wrapped in bags and tied for freshness, before Tim and I assembled them into our out-of-town gift bags. We also included Big Red gum (for Nebraska), Chesapeake Bay-style potato chips (with Old Bay seasoning), bottled water, and some tourist information about the city of Baltimore. And as a final touch, each bag got a few small packets of Haribo gummy bears - made in Germany.
