My son recently served on the student council at his school. One of my husband's dreams was that his son enjoy politics and be proud of being an American, interests and ideals that he started sharing with our children even as infants. We are so proud of how proud our son was to serve in student government.

Journaling: Kenneth, Daddy and I are so proud of the young man you are becoming. Before you were even born daddy talked about sharing his love of politics and of America with his children. As you can see, he has been sharing his passion for both with you since you were a very little boy. We are so proud of you for volunteering to serve on the Student Council at *** *** this year. You could have chosen to come home from school at dismissal to play video games and read books. You were sorely disappointed when you weren't chosen for the first term and happily served during the second term, even though it meant missing Engineering class after it moved to ***days. You were so excited every ***day, both in anticipation of the meeting and after the meeting when you'd share what happened. It seemed especially fitting that one of the activities you helped plan during your term on the Student Council was a Hobby Day. You shared your love of trains, another interest Daddy introduced to you at a very young age.

The circles next to the title contain the quote:
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
~Lee Greenwood

Hidden journaling on the tag behind the largest baby picture gives dates for the baby pictures.

I'm entering this in 4 challenges: April pick a quote, April journaling (proud), April scrap a family member (son or daughter), and April More than 1.
