On August 25, 2007 Mike and I took Josh to a Day Out With Thomas at the Huckleberry Railroad in Flint. We had tickets for the 1:00pm train.

We dropped Bella off with Grammy and Papa at about 11am so we could make the day all about Josh. We arrived at the railroad at probably 20 minutes before noon. We went in and headed to the gift shop so Josh could pick out a couple presents. On the way through we passed Sir Topham Hatt having a meet and greet and Josh pointed him out right away. We told him we'd see Sir Topham Hatt a bit later. At the gift ship, he got a Thomas hat, a "Day Out With Thomas" wooden railway caboose, and a wooden "Salty" engine. After paying, we went to the cafeteria next door and each got a soft pretzel. Josh only ate about half of his and he was ready to sight-see until our 1pm train ride.

We headed back toward the front to watch Thomas arrive and pick up the noon passengers. Josh was amazed when Thomas rolled in. he watched everybody board and waved as Thomas left the station. We explained to him that next time Thomas came back we would go for a ride!

We walked around a bit. Mike and Josh played in a hay maze and then it was time to head back and get in line for our ride. We got our tickets punched and climbed into a car. Josh and I sat in one seat and Mike sat in the seat in front of us. Josh kept saying, "Thomas, peep peep! Go Thomas!" Finally we left the station. Josh waved at the crowd as we pulled away.

Then, out of nowhere, Josh started to act a little scared. He wanted to sit with Mike, so I passed him up a seat. He sat on Mike's lap looking more and more sad. I wasn't sure what the problem was. I kept trying to smile like, "yay, this is fun!" but it wasn't working. Josh's eyes filled with tears but he didn't cry. A few minutes later he started throwing up! We decided he must be motion sick and hoped he'd feel better once we got off the train and sat down for a bit.

We finally got back to the station and Mike and Josh headed into the nearby men's bathroom. Mike got them both cleaned up and we headed back to the gift shop to get Josh a new shirt. He threw up again on the way there. Mike bought a shirt and we got Josh changed and a nice lady gave him a sucker to hopefully help settle his stomach. He was acting a little better so we asked him if he wanted to go home. He said no. We asked him if he wanted to go get a tattoo and he said yes so off we went.
