I don't know if this is kosher or not, but I'm begging here. Won't the next scrapper who looks at this, Please comment on my beautiful antique silver treetop? Click on the picture to enlarge it and check out how lovely it looks on my tree! The silver bells actually tinkle when the cat jumps in the tree. This is my favorite Christmas Tradition, and I'm feeling bad here 'cause nobody's noticed it.
Ok, so I'm slow this morning but I just found the hardanger piece you were telling me about. That is beautiful and a lot of intense work!!!!! I had several pieces I had completed, however in 1996 I had a house fire and lost most all of my work from the beginning. Lots of hardanger went up in flames but my baby and me came out alive. I can always restitch.....
The journaling card under the pull tab reads; Spending Christmas with my family is the greatest treasure of all. Mom bought the beautiful silver tree top in1955. It is a fond memory of holidays past. Now it graces the tree where we all gather to celebrate Christmas. My favorite trolls on the sleigh pucker up under the mistletoe, and note the elaborate Hardanger embroidery they sit apon. And what would be the holidays without a village for gramsies? (This last is a reference to my room-sized, Dept.56, Snow Village. Since I moved to Yelm, I lack the space to set it up.)
