I'm doing a Trading Pages project with a circle of friends (that I'm also doing another circle journal with). So, I sent my pics to a friend who, in turn, sent her photos to another friend, who, in turn, sent her photos to another friend...and on and on and on...in our circle of friends. So, here's the 2-page lo I did for my friend Karla (my friend, Liz, did a fabulous lo with my photos). The pics were taken by her and she will add journaling to the tags on the far right. 12x12 lo. Thanks for looking!
- Large pic was enlarged and painted white on the edges for a little distressed look.
- Cheesecloth, silver microbeads, silver/white/grey fibers and silver charms frame the large photo.
- A transparency with the words "Coronado Island, San Diego, California" was torn and adhered to the bottom of the large photo.
- White cheesecloth was adhered over the light blue cardstock for the background.
- All the smaller photos were mounted onto chipboard and painted white on the edges.
- Each set of two small photos includes the name of each boy and 3 adjectives to describe him written on opaque shrink plastic shaped as tags & tied with white Fun Fiber.
- The color photo on the bottom right was framed with strips of shrink plastic that had been colored with light blue rub-on. The tops of silver mini brads (legs/prongs had been cut off with a button shanker) were glued at the ends of each strip.
- Bottom border consists of handmade paper and modeling paste in the shapes of shells that had been colored with light blue rub-on.
- The BEACH title letters were cut out of chipboard then embossed with 4 layers of white Versamark ink and clear UTEE. Clear microbeads were put on top of the 3rd layer. On the "B", I put a piece of tissue paper that I had stamped "Coronado" on on the last layer. [This was a GREAT idea from the "Designing with Words" book]
- The poem in the middle reads "What lies ahead of you and what lies behind you are nothing compared to what lies within you. Unknown" This was printed on transparency, painted in white on the back (so you could see it).
- Journaling pocket was made of wire mesh and embellished with silver charms and wire mesh die cuts.
