uh, no wonder this won, WOW... I don't even know which contest it was in. But, oh my it's dropdead gorgeous! amazing how you did all that neat stuff.
I rocked my babies to sleep and never ever let them cry themselves to sleep. I even would lay down with them at night, read, talk about their day, encourage, or just cuddle until they were way up in age. I still lay in the bed with my daughter and rub her hair and tickle her hair, while we chat about boys, gossip, and debate. she is 20. my son told me I couldn't read to him anymore when he turned 12. night-time bedbonding is a precious time that we need to have. I think. It gives us time to minister love to our kids, no matter what age, this world is such a fast pace and sometimes cruel place to live. My kids turned out FINE. those late night talks taught them alot.

The journaling says - At 6 months old I am still rocking you to sleep every night. I continue to ignore the suggestions of your pediatrician and our friends and family because I can’t stand the thought of you lying in your crib crying because you want to be held. Maybe someday down the road I will regret not having let you cry yourself to sleep, but for now this works just fine. I love to hold you and watch you fall asleep. I love to whisper little secrets to you and see you smile as you are drifting off… Mama loves you David, Sweet Dreams.
