3rd pages from my Europe Vacation - Buckingham palace and Trafalgar Square.

Journaling:
The bus then took us over the Thames to Big Ben and the adjacent building of parliament. Buckingham Palace was next, and from the bus we could see the Palace guards outside the gates as well as inside them. The palace was beautiful, surrounded by gardens, trees, and ornate gates.
We then traveled to Trafalgar Square, a famous place to feed pigeons even though it is not longer allowed. Nelson’s Column dominates the square, a very popular meeting place. The British are very patriotic, and flags were hung in many windows throughout the streets. This, of course, could have been related to England’s participation in the FIFA World Cup.
The bus crossed the Thames twice more, once to view the Tower Bridge, and again to go across it.
The four of us topped off our day in London with Fish and Chips at Shakespeare’s Pub. I was really pleased to have had some authentic English food in a neat little pub.
Next was our flight to Barcelona, Spain where we met up with Ryan’s Uncle Jack and Aunt Carley.
