ooooh no - not a good choice of pet :) Glad she took your advice and released it safely. Yes, my little guys are much cuter - but they will grow and CAN get to be the size of a dinner plate.
My youngest dd has a real talent for finding adventure, and making my life interesting, Her adventure, finding a "pet sized" turtle. I had to explain to her that this is not a box turle, it is a snapping turtle, and there really isn't a good size for them to be a pet. I convinced her to release it in a safer place than where she found it.Turtle is back in the wild, and dd still has all of her fingers, and they lived happily ever after.
