This layout is for the NSBD All Day Challenge. I thought long and hard about something that really meant a lot to me and makes my heart happy every time I think of it. The answer.. My Grandma's China.
Journaling reads: One of my fondest childhood memories is going to my grandparents house for our holiday meals. Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, anniversaries, you name it and my grandmother wanted to celebrate it. I remember walking into her dining room and seeing her beautiful china perfectly arranged on the table and proudly displayed.
There were individual serving dishes for everything!
“Creamed corn” bowls Tomato juice cocktail glasses (originally jelly jars) Crystal cups that held salt so we would dip our fresh scallions Mashed Potato bowl French Stuffing bowl The list goes on and on.
My grandma passed away in October, 1992. I inherited her china upon her passing and I still use it to this day. My grandma’s passion for food was passed on to me and my sisters. Her recipes are still served at special occasions and I know whenever we cook them, she is looking down on us and smiling.
