My first attempt at handstitching! Journaling reads, "Justin, the girls and I went to the cemetery to visit Mom. While looking around I noticed some beautiful daffodils growing next to some headstones. I thought, "I'll come back tomorrow and get some pics of those for the PhotoHunt Challenge." On the way home, I mentioned to my husband about a boy, I was friends with, who died. in a truck accident while we were in high school in 1984. I told him about how sweet he was and about how a group of us visited that same cemetery one night to see the Blue Angel (a statue in a mausoleum)and how we scared the *bleep* out of each other. I also told him that I had just seen my friend at a party the night before he died. I told him I wanted to find his headstone because I hadn't visited for a long time. The next day I went back to get my pictures of the daffodils. After completing my task I took a step back just to look around. I looked down at one of the markers next to the daffodils and there it was...my friend's headstone. I could not believe it. I cannot describe to you the feelings that went through me in that moment. It was a little eerie yet I felt comforted. Still a little dumbfounded, I sat in my car and cried just a little. I cried for me, I miss my Mom; for my Mom, missing my girls grow up; and for my friend, being taken at only 16 years old. I believe there was a higher power with me that day and the daffodils were a marker for me to find my friend. I will never look a daffodil again and not remember."
