Charge & Marriage Vows
The Bible teaches that marriage is to be a permanent relationship of one man and one woman, freely and totally committed to each other as companions for life. Our Lord declared that the man shall leave his father and mother and be united with his wife and both of them shall become one flesh. Their home shall be built upon true love.
The Bible says that true love is patient and kind. True love is not jealous or boastful.
True love is not arrogant or rude neither is it easily irritated. True love does not insist on its own way. It is not irritable or resentful.
True love does not rejoice at wrong but rejoices in the right. True love bears all things, hopes all things, and believes all things.
True love never ends. Many other things may come to an end...like your flowers, your money, your car, etc...but love never ends. So faith, hope, love abides, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Marriage is a companionship which involves mutual agreement and responsibility. You will share alike in the responsibilities and the joys of life.
When you share a sorrow in marriage, that sorrow is halved, but when you share in a joy that joy is doubled. That is the nice thing about marriage.
