This image is for Classygirl's May Sketch Challenge.

I have never purposely scraplifted before. So, I decided that because of that and because I really liked the sketch I would try to keep it really close to the orginal idea right down to the accent piece... which was made with a combination of hand punches and hand cutting.

To make it a little more personal though... I added the word "family" via a piece of white cs. I punched two holes into that and then threaded a black ribbon in it for a vertical line to match the one shown on the sketch. I inked the outline to make it stand out more. I then stamped the words "remember", "treasure" and "cherish" around the LO to support my journaling idea. I added a border of black to the whole LO. And added journaling strips to describe the photos.

The journaling square reads... I have always loved taking photos, but it never really sank in how important all those group family photos really were. We have a large family and for some reason, we were all just really good about posing for them whenever anyone asked. But until April 2003, when my father would no longer be part of our family photos, those images had never seemed so important. I am so glad that we took so many of them when we had the chance. "Family group photos", "April 2003", and "father" are highlighted in red to make them stand out a little more.

The photos on this LO were actually taken without my father (thus the date).... at his wake and after his funeral (as the small journaling strips record).
