From our rehearsal dinner. We love the picture of our two dads comparing beers. Letters are hand cut. The graphic is from our cake, journaled exhaustively here.
Although we chose to use our caterer's vendor for our wedding cake, I was disappointed to give up my lifelong dream cake: a date-nut cake from our family's favorite bakery in Berea, Ohio. So we compromised: we would serve that as the groom's cake for everyone to enjoy at our rehearsal dinner. According to custom, this is a cake that looks represents something about the groom. I decided a cake that looked like Tim's beloved iPod would be fitting, but couldn't find a way to show the screen with the image I wanted: "our" song, "All I Want Is You," by Tim's favorite band, U2. So I designed the screen graphic. Jim and Amy (my brother and SIL) worked with the bakery to finalie the artwork, and Mom and Dad brought the final product with them to Baltimore. It tasted absolutely perfect!
