For Every Kid should challenge - picture of me and my Dad during one of our earlier adventure trips to our forest. Journaling is hidden behind the pattern paper and reads:

What is an adventure?

As dictionary would says an adventure is an activity that comprises risky, dangerous and uncertain experiences. The term is more popularly used in reference to physical activities that have some potential for danger. Moreover, adventure can be describing as unusual experience or participating in exciting undertakings.

As a writer Michael Bank would say an adventure is a dangerous experience that leaves you with an interesting story to tell, if you survive.

As I would say and adventure is something that shoud be a part of every kids life. To me it’s not necessarily about danger or risk. I see adventure more like an opportunity to gain experiences and knowledge, both positive and negative that will later turn to the most treasured memories.

In the eyes of child an adventure can be something as simple as walking across a log in a park, jumping over a small stream, racing on a trail with Dad to see who can catch up with Mom faster, spending a night in a tent on grandpa’s backyard, or picking wild berries.

Those are exactly the type of childhood memories that I carry with me. Numerous trip to our forest and further, exploring little mountain towns and trail, learning about what berries and mushrooms are edible, wading upstream creeks, skipping rocks, falling, slipping, getting all kinds of scratches… and at the end of the day being so tired from runnning around that I hardly could keep my eyes open, yet already having plan for even greater adventure the following day.

I was very lucky that my parents always encouraged outdoor activities and I am very positive that all our adventures and misadventures were what ultimately created the wonderful bond we have till this day, shaped my creativity, helped me during various classes, made me more independent, and build me into the person I am today.
