Photos from my sister's first day with her new horse, Rain. The lighting was absolutely perfect, and I was thrilled with how the photos turned out (much better than the scan lets on!) :)
Journaling: It was no secret that Chelsea had been longing for a horse of her own for as long as she’s been riding. She has become very talented and has a special bond with horses. When our family moved to the Claremore area, my parents began seriously considering buying a horse for Chelsea. As soon as Rain and Chelsea met, they just seemed right for each other. One of the ladies from the Blue Starr church offered to let us keep Rain on her property to accompany her aging horse, Chester, and a donkey, Jenny. The day after Christmas, we drove to the property and waited anxiously for Rain to arrive. She was nervous at first, but Chelsea calmed her and they were soon enjoying walking the land and getting to know each other. The candid photos show beautifully the sweet relationship between a girl and her horse.
