This layout was done for the May's Bling Challenge, Paint Challenge and the May's Scrap a Large Photo Challenge.

So I tried some new things on this layout. I'm still learning so I'm happy with the results, but still need some practice!

The photo is 8x10 as required by the large photo challenge. The background paper is an ordinary embossed piece of white cardstock that I distressed and added ink, metallic gold and metallic white paint to. In addition, the twist for the large photo challenge was to include journaling. On the right side of layout are 3 little pieces of distressed mauve cardstock which read "1 dash of sugar", "1 pinch of spice", and "1 cup of everything nice". The hidden journaling is on a tag located at the top left corner (see gold/cream harlequin ribbon).

For May's Bling Challenge portion I wanted to do something other than gems/stones so I used the following...cream and gold glitter strips of cardstock, purple and pink flowered patterned paper with glitter in the center of each flower, kraft paper distressed with ink, metallic white and metallic gold paint, cream buttons with flecks of metallic gold tied with jute packing string. As for the flowers, they were created from mauve and purple cardstock, gold and green foil, and pink and neon purple acrylic paint. The flourishes are rubons and are outlined with purple and gold foil.

I also burned the corners of the kraft paper, mauve message papers and the flowered paper for a further distressed look.

Hidden Journaling: Kayli you are without a doubt the perfect recipe! Just the right combination of sugar, spice and everything nice. Your daddy and mommy couldn't be more proud to call you our little princess. We love you bunches!

Thanks for taking a look!
