HEY SCRAP SISTERS and BROTHERS!!I've been gone awhile.Springtime always brings me around to cleaning the garden and adding to it.I redid the bathrooms:spackling, priming, painting, redoing the hardware and replacing the rugs, throwing out unused or expired meds,etc......all on my own. :) The one year aniversary of my brother's death had sucked my heart dry and work has increased due to a dear friend (and co-worker) diagnosis of lymphoma.I'm on vacation now and had time to "BALANCE" myself with more creativity and spiritual growth. It is a good feeling.......I missed my community/neighborhood scrappers. The warmth and compassion has given me a drive and renewed my faith in the kindness and strength of strangers.Global sisterhood ROCKS!!!I used various scraps and stickers over one year old. This project didn't take nearly as long as it may seem nor was it hard.......I took a photo of myself and cut it in half after enlarging it.I was too lazy to dig thru clutter to look for my tracing paper so I used a scrap of velum to place on top of the unused portion of the photo(yes,I do have a crooked smile in real life).I then drew around various areas of light and dark of my skin.I cut them out and traced them on the colors I wanted to use starting with with lightest color as the paper to tape/glue the pieces on.I used Basic Grey paper to be my hair when it is down(at work my hair is always up). It took some trial and error but it was what I wanted to achieve....a representation of my bohemian lifestyle balanced with my rsponsibilties.I have also worked on 3 LOs of my niece ...they will be posted this weekend.May you find your center/balance today and everyday, love you guys,Paula.....peace
