Made for Negative space challenge this layout is about my parents visit in 2004. journaling reads:
Some dreams do come true. Ever since I moved to the USA I had one big dream – to bring my parents over here so that they can see where I live, visit places I would talk about during our phone calls, get to know people that became my friends, and most importantly finally meet my husband. I would drive home from work every day dreaming of how wonderful it would be if they could see the mountains lining horizon and river snaking through the valley just as I do. Then my dream came true. My parents celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2004 and we decided it would be a great gift to invite them over for vacation.
I remember clearly how excited I was to tell them. My parents never flew on an airplane before and I knew my Dad was scared of it unbelievably. When I asked him if he would come over given that opportunity, he did not hesitate to say “Sure, why not”; however the closer the date of their departure was coming the more nervous he was. My Dad is that kind of a guy who spends more time in a bathroom combing his hair and making himself looking neat than a woman. I was shocked when I saw him after the arrival, unshaved and very tired. My Mom told me later he was so nervous he could not sleep properly for about a week and he was so scared he could not shave himself for about 3 days - that much his hands were shaking. The fact he got on that plane to come and visit us means more to me than any words can ever say.
