I was TERRIFIED of doing this LO w/ vibrant colors. Generally, when I think of "ancestry" type of pictures (this is an original picture from the 50s of my mother and her brother), I think of the classic browns, blacks, off-whites for paper: all of which I didn't have a lot of that coordinated well. I went with the colors and I think it turned out just fine...as scared as I was!! I read in a magazine to use brads, eyelets, etc on polka dot paper for a more textured look, so I did. Jury is out on if I like it.
LO is framed and I took the picture outside in the sun, so there are some shadows going on.
