SHCG: OMG, Sharon. These are fabulous! I love that each of these was insired by your previous works. As I was reading your description and compared the inchie to the description, I could fondly remember each of your recent layouts. Such a fabulous idea! I have no suggestions, except to make more, because these rock!
SHCG: These are just fabulous and so interesting. one little suggestion...turn the harliquin b&w stud/button so that the white diamonds look like teeth.
These are so awesome. I don't think I've ever even heard of inchies... do you use them as embellishments or do they just stand alone? Either way these are way cute. I love them!
These are wonderful. I can see inspiration from old layouts as well as new styles figured in. I am so excited to try these, but I just pulled out a ruler and one inch is so tiny!
SHCG: So many things to say about these. First, I'm elated you took the challenge, and that you experienced the same realization that you could have gone on for hours. I love that you got to use photo scraps, and I can see the inspiration behind each of these from your previous los. I love each inchie for individual reasons. I love that you made a cluster of paper strips again and set a heart button against it, and I'm wondering why you didn't use that in the original lo. The cupcake piece is way too cute, and I think it's great that you found a use for a piece you had never used (I had the same experience with mine). The woman inchie is the perfect representation of the 36 lo. The last inchie is very reminiscent of earlier Edward Gorey collage pieces I've seen from you, and it's neat to see it creep up here again. I like the Egg's Nest inspired one, but I feel like your teeny tiny beads (either kind, round or cylindrical) would look great here, too. I feel like the Rock Star one could use a Rock strip in the upper left, but I think that's just me being so used to seeing each inchie with at least one word title. All of these inchies can definitely be used, as is, on cards and other projects, too. WTG, Sharon! I hope this won't be the last of your inchies.
This is my response to twinscrapbee's/Brenda's Inchie challenge for Scrap Happenzz Critique Group to scraft inchies inspired by one's works; this is also my first time making these. I used my recent project for ideas because going through all the tiny elements I have in my stash would've carried me into an hours-long obsession, & I did these at 3:30AM!
Top Row Descriptions 1st: Inspired by my Negril, Jamaica mini-book. This uses a fragment of an actual photo from that trip, plus a green palm tree punch which is one of the punches I used do decorate that book (the green stands out on the blue photo better IRL)
2nd: Inspired by my “Who Says You Can't Go Home” LO; the monochromatic dimensional red button stands out from the red background better IRL.
3rd: Inspired by my “Carnegie Deli” LO
4th: Inspired by my “Greg's Mind!” LO but then took a life of its own. Used this clear cupcake nonsticky tape stuff that I got for free once & had never used ever. Too lazy to use vellum tape at 4AM when I made this, I affixed the stuff on the back & got a cool kind of dimensional effect.
Bottom Row Descriptions: 1st: Inspired by my “Egg's Nest/B&B” LO
2nd: Inspired by my “36 Happenings From My 36th Year” LO
3rd: Inspired by my “Rock Chick/”Rock Ho” LOs by using the Rock Star Stack here, Can't see it well but I got some cool results using my mesh stamp (from my “Carnegie Deli” LO) w/ silver ink on this one.
4th: Inspired by my “Breast Cancer Awareness w/ a DRS Twist” ATCs but took on a life of its own. The images are actually from scans of my DRS Naughty Secrets ATCs, the background is a B&W pic from our tropical wedding.
Truth be told, when I first saw inchies last year, I thought they weren't for me. I mean, I lose whole pieces of paper larger than several inchies all the time, LOL. But twinscrapbee's enthusiasm was contagious & I couldn't resist trying them out. Plus I was able to respond to a challenge in an hour & a half – that doesn't happen to often! So THANKS for the fun invitation, Brenda, it was a blast!
