Journaling reads: I love this picture…the way you are so reverently staring at the flag. It is as if you already understand at nine months that is represents our country and our freedom. I hope that as you grow we are able to teach you just how lucky you are to be an American. You come from a long line of military on both side of the family…Navy sailors, who fought for our country so that we may live free. Great Grandpa Max served in World War II on the USS Abner Reed. Grandpa Michael and Grandpa Billy both served in the Navy and now your daddy plays trumpet in the Navy band. May you always know how blessed you are to live in a country like the United States where you are free to make your own choices and are given to opportunity to be and do anything you wish. And may you respect our flag as it represents that freedom.
I started this lo a long time ago too and then ran out of adhesive and put it in a pile of paper and forgot about it. I added the journaling and the heart and star tonight to finish it off.
