Journaling on the ther side reads:

Being outdoors absolutely beats being stacked inside. It's true any time. No matter whether it is sunny or if the forecast calls for a torrential downpour, the fresh air filled with aroma of pine needles, songs of birds and bubbling creeks hold the magic, the call of wild that cannot remain unanswered.

I've been asked recently which trip was the most memorable this season. Every trip I've been on had something that made it special – sometimes a little think like a drop of water resting on a leaf reflecting rays of sunshine in a beautiful rainbow effect can make one forget the previous 2 hours of walking in a heavy rain and mud and bring nearly childish happiness to life.

It's very hard to pick just one out of the countless trips I did but perhaps Icicle Ridge stands out a hair bit more than the others. It was a trip that was never supposed to happened at the first place – our destination was Merritt Lake about 20 miles west but we had to accept fact that we cannot change the elements and due to avalanche danger opted for a different trail than planned. Even then Icicle Ridge was not our choice; however upon arrival to the general area we quickly figured out that if we want to increase a chance of seeing some snow today – and considering this was a snowhoe trip it was exactly what we were hoping for - we will have to abandoned our alternate plan and just only then Icicle Ridge became our objective.
