Journalling: On August 6, 2005, Papa decided it was time to have a celebration. He invited all of his friends, neighbours and family. We set up in the back yard. There were lots of lawn chairs, tables with lots of food and lots of happy people. Les, a neighbour of Papa's came down early to prepare the main course. He made his famous Hungarian Goulash outside over an open fire, which was so delicious; it melted in your mouth! Sophie, you and your sister opted out on the goulash, but agreed to feast upon a nicely roasted Red Hot hotdog instead. After everyone had entirely stuffed themselves on this wonderful Hungarian dish, Grandma appeared from the house carrying a very large cake, wonderfully decorated with your name and Papa's. Papa wanted to celebrate your birthday along with his; he turned 62 on August 2nd. Grandma lit all of the candles while you waited patiently. Once all of the candles were lit, Papa lifted you up so you could help him blow them out and make a wish. After everyone sang Happy Birthday, Anne, a good friend of Grandma and Papa's, sliced the cake and handed it out to the eager crowd. Mommy then became camera happy and candidly took pictures of all the guests eating your tasty birthday cake. It was enjoyed by all (please see pictures). Happy 2nd Birthday Sophie girl!
