Next on our list of places to visit while in Paris was the Cathedral De Notre Dame. Crossing the Sein we came upon the beautiful chatedral. I've always enjoyed the Disney movie "The Hutchback of Notre Dame", so it was really neat to see the actual thing. I was amazed at the structure. Iv'e always been intrigued by architecture so I loved seeing the Notre Dame because of its Gothic style. Seen from the exterior, the building appears to be High Gothic. Notable features include the profusion of colonnettes and tracery screens, the horizontal and vertical ordering of the facades, the imposing size of the rose windows, and the delicacy of the flying buttresses, not to mention the gargoyles on the roof. We'd already seen a bunch of Cathedrals, but I was so amazed at the interiors of this cathedral. I'm glad we spent time at the cathedral, enjoying the majestic beauty.
