Journaling (on back of page) Reads: I have only a few people who I consider to be my heroes. I wanted to showcase two of these people who are very important to me: my Granny and my Aunt Cathy. These two women have been excellent role models all of my life and I appreciate all of the love and support they have given to me. My Granny was the person who will always be there for me, no matter what I do. She always tells me, I may not agree with every decision you have made, but I supported you through them all. And she is right, she has seen me through it all. My Aunt Cathy is the woman I admire most for her accomplishments. Aunt Cathy has always worked hard, and that hard work has given her much success. She runs three casinos now! She is one of only a handful of women who hold top positions in the gaming industry. But despite her success, she is very modest and stresses that she is just like anyone else. If you are determined to achieve a goal, work hard and you can do it. I also admire the many things she does at home. She is not too proud to do her own gardening or make her niece a cup of tea. Some of my fondest memories are of our kayak trips down the river, during which she would point out all of the wildlife along the way. I also fondly remember a trip we took to Forsythe Wildlife Refuge. I was amazed at the amount of knowledge Aunt Cathy had about different wildlife species. Despite her incredibly demanding job, where she worked 12 hour days, six days a week, she still learned all about the local natural habitat. She is the most intelligent woman I know. It is an incredible compliment to me that people say I am very much like my Aunt Cathy. (Ever since I was little my grandparents have mistakenly called my Cathy. My grandfather still says, Cathy, ummm, Megan, whatever your name is... I take it as a compliment that I could be confused with such an amazing woman. I have been told that I resemble my Aunt Cathy when she was my age.) Aunt Cathy has taught me that women can be independent and successful in business and life. I am forever grateful to these two women who are my heroes.
